At the frontier of human experience
I have gotten to know and meet various people who are masters of their craft: numerous astronauts, researchers, philosophers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, fighter pilots, musicians, technologists and more. I have spent an unusually long time with many, some are friends. They all have achieved true greatness, a higher state of being where the sole purpose of existence is to refine the craft and create something new.
I meet and celebrate achieving this greatness with the musicians occasionally, and I make sure to thank them for creating beautiful music that has defined much of my youth and has offered one of the best sources of inspiration.
Ariaan (1/2 of 16 Bit Lolitas) played finest music set from 1AM to sunrise at Splendor. This was his best live performance that I am aware of.
16BL has a deep imprint on the Anjunadeep label. James Grant played "Not The Only One - 16BL" during the sunrise. Its was a true delight. I also heard Dom Donnelly play "Friendly Neighbour" along with "Time" by Pachanga Boys (another major track which I love to mix with Friendly Neighbour).
I had a good chat with him about his track Dominika. We both agreed that the track tastes different every time we hear it. He said that the track is best experienced at the beach.
Spending time with Jody Wisternoff, food, music and beaches.
A platinum bangle for 10 years?
I presented tana 3 rings that I designed and 3d printed in rose gold, gold and white gold when I asked her to build our life together. She choses to wear different ring depending on her mood and style every day. After few years, I presented her a fourth ring 3d printed in platinum.
The case is CNC machined in stainless steel and mirror polished.
Red light is an important element of my habitat. Thought I'd continue to live in different places and it would be great to have a portable red lamp.
A superior music experience is one of the primary goals I've optimized for in my habitat. Over the years, I've assembled and refined a stereo system. With time, the hardware became complex and cluttered. When listening to music, I desired better organization and aesthetics.
I'd been thinking about this for quite some time. I had an idea of the kind of enclosure that would fit my speakers and furniture (current and future). I'd take photos anytime I ran into real-life objects that resembled my idea, and that inspired me.
Once I was confident enough about the direction, I purchased a few speaker grille cloths as that and wood were my primary elements. The speaker grille cloth and wood have to work together.
Here are some photos of building the music case. I believe it took about two months to complete.

Care and Quality are internal and external aspects of the same thing. A person who sees Quality and feels it as he works is a person who cares. A person who cares about what he sees and does is a person who’s bound to have some characteristic of quality.”

I recently moved into a newly built modern apartment in San Francisco. Since the last 3 years, I have highly customized the living room space for primarily experiencing music and have had only a couch, speakers and mood lighting. I decided to design and build a hardwood coffee table.
No one will likely ever notice many of the details in this coffee table. But these details are where I find a lot of satisfaction and joy. Creations with such details often emerge from a set of values of the creator. To let the object itself reveal those values is the success of the creator. And this is my attempt to do just that.
Among all classes offered at the D school, Advanced product design (ME312) by Bill Burnett appealed to me the most. It was most closest to the blend of industrial design and mechanical engineering. I'm grateful that he let me take this class. I was the odd and the student from the aero-astro program. I met some amazing people who went on to become great designers.
